Breast imaging software developer Volpara Health has teamed up with educational software firm DetectED-X to provide DensityED, an online training module for breast density assessment.

DensityED includes technologies from both Volpara and DetectED-X, and it is designed to help radiologists improve their accuracy in classifying breast density on mammography images, according to the vendor. Radiologists can use the training tool to classify BI-RADS breast density categories for more than 60 mammography images of various levels of difficulty.

The software will provide immediate feedback, enabling the radiologists to identify and correct errors, according to the company. Radiologists can compare their accuracy regionally and around the world, as well as receive continuing education credits at the end of training, Volpara said.

Under the collaboration, DetectED-X will independently sell DensityED to Volpara customers in 39 countries. In addition, Volpara said it will also make DetectED-X's BreastED cloud-based radiologic breast cancer detection training platform available to clinicians.
