Last week, we were in Honolulu, covering the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine's (ISMRM) annual meeting. The gathering hosted clinicians and investigators of all varieties who shared thought-provoking research and tips on how to best use MRI in clinical practice.
AI was a key topic at the conference, with presenters emphasizing the technology's many benefits -- from image reconstruction and enabling faster and higher-quality exams to reducing gadolinium-based contrast agent doses. Another particular focus at the meeting was sustainability in MRI, from equipment manufacture the use of the modality in the imaging department to dealing with contrast waste.
Our most-read story reported on research regarding the use of 7-tesla MRI to track the "bioenergetic parameters" of the brains of people with depression.
