Image-guided surgery developer BrainLab has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its VectorVision Fluoro 3D spinal surgery system. An image-guided navigation package, VectorVision Fluoro 3D allows for intraoperative, real-time control of the surgeon’s instruments in a 3-D representation of the patient’s anatomy, according to the Munich, Germany-based vendor. The software also provides for integration of intraoperatively acquired 3-D data from Malvern, PA-based Siemens Medical Solutions’ Siremobil Iso C3D system.
