MRI device developer Biophan Technologies and its technology partner Nanoset have received a U.S. patent covering nanomagnetic particle-coating technology that facilitates MRI-guided surgical procedures, according to the firm.
The technology can illuminate devices that are difficult to see without it, either because the devices are invisible on MR imaging, or because they occlude the MR image, Biophan said. The Rochester, NY-based firm holds worldwide exclusive rights to the technology for medical applications.
