FDA clears 3D CT bronchoscopy

Peripheral areas of the lung are virtually unreachable with standard bronchoscopy procedures, but Tel Aviv, Israel-based superDimension has developed an FDA-cleared navigation system for guiding endoscopic instruments in the pulmonary tract.

The superDimension/Bronchus creates a real-time 3D CT roadmap of the entire lung, including areas beyond the bronchoscope's reach. It makes use of any standard bronchoscope or therapeutic bronchoscopic tool from any vendor.
