Philips Healthcare is highlighting an integrated oncology suite at this week's American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting.
Philips is showing three systems for oncology imaging -- MR, CT, and PET/CT -- including its Brilliance CT Big Bore Oncology configuration. The Andover, MA-based firm has also added 4D time-of-flight capability to its Gemini TF PET/CT and Gemini TF PET/CT Big Bore systems.
In addition, Philips is also presenting an image-guided interventional system developed by combining its image processing and modeling technology with Toronto-based Traxtal's PercuNav system. The system provides soft-tissue navigation and automatic image fusion of live ultrasound with CT and MR images, according to the vendor.
In works-in-progress developments, Philips is showing a version of its Panorama High-Field Open (HFO) MR system with advanced therapy simulation capabilities for treatment planning and interventional oncology applications.
The company is also displaying Version 9 of its Pinnacle3 radiation treatment planning system. Expected to be released in the second quarter of 2009, Version 9 offers workflow improvements, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). A SmartArc dose planning module will be shown for volumetric intensity-modulated arc therapy, Philips said.
