(Booth 4058) Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee will highlight new enhancements from both its Merge Fusion suite of software for end users and its Cedara division for OEMs.
Among the Cedara products is I-Response, an application designed to support clinical trials and oncology viewing. I-Response supports double-blind reading, registration, advanced segmentation, comparison of multiple time points, and support for clinical trial rules.
The application includes three analysis techniques: A lesion analysis package streamlines the clinical trials workflow of creating/exporting the measurements according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) and World Health Organization (WHO) criteria, and also supports volume-based approaches. A PET/CT analysis package enables users to compare standardized uptake values (SUVs) over multiple time points, while a functional diffusion mapping (fDM) analysis package can track changes in tumors at the metabolic or cellular level over multiple time points on MR images.
For orthopedic surgery planning, Merge is offering up Cedara ProPlanner, software with features that include joint arthroplasty, trauma, deformity correction, and more. ProPlanner's workflow features include ImageSnap technology for fast automated templating, advanced auto-stitching, advanced calibration, and custom measurements. ProPlanner is designed to run as either a standalone product, as a tool integrated into Cedara's I-Reach software, or integrated into an OEM's software suite.
OpenEyes is a Cedara application designed to enable software developers to create clinical applications in multiple platforms, and Merge will demonstrate updates that include technology for 2D, 3D, and 4D visualization.
Merge also will tout version 3.9 of its MergeCOM-3 toolkit for DICOM developers, released in October. The new release introduces support for several key DICOM standard supplements, as well as improved multithreading capability, compression support, and updated sample applications. The toolkit supports Windows and Linux operating systems and programming in C/C++, C# .NET, and Java.
In addition, look for Merge to introduce Cedara xPipe and Cedara fDM Toolkit. Cedara xPipe is designed to automate the image processing task (image processing, shuttering, and stitching) in an x-ray console application, while Cedara fDM Toolkit gives OEMs the ability to integrate functional diffusion mapping analysis into their products. fDM analysis can track changes in tumors at the metabolic or cellular level over multiple time points, according to the company.
Lastly, Merge will tout its OEM custom engineering services, which the firm offers to OEMs to complement their in-house development teams.
