RapidAI partners with Alaska Stroke Coalition

AI software developer RapidAI and the Alaska Stroke Coalition (ASC) have partnered on a three-year initiative called "Rapid AK" to improve rural stroke care in Alaska.

As part of the effort, six hospitals across the state recently deployed RapidAI’s core stroke imaging and workflow AI software, joining four hospitals already using the technology in their regions. RapidAI’s AI products help identify intracranial hemorrhage and large vessel occlusion from CT scans, centralize workflows, and support collaborative stroke care decision-making across networks, the company said.

“Alaska is certainly unique in its vast size and rural landscape. In fact, a patient might need to travel nearly the same distance as from Dallas to New York just to reach thrombectomy services at either Providence Alaska Medical Center or Alaska Regional Hospital, the state's only comprehensive stroke center," neurosurgeon and ASC sponsor Lucy He, MD, of the medical center, noted in a statement.
