Hitachi Medical Systems America has released a new software upgrade for its AVIA (Advanced Visualization and Image Analysis) PET workstation. Enhancements include non-rigid/deformable fusion to quickly and accurately align multimodal images, a feature that can compensate for general patient motion or position changes, correct for respiratory and digestive motion, and enhance before/after comparisons of treatment response, according to the Twinsburg, OH-based vendor.
Other features include an enhanced display functionality for improved visualization and customized templates, and teleradiology image-sharing for real-time LAN/WAN synchronization. A photo composer addition offers greater flexibility with print and review templates, while an automatic archiving security function verifies data status, Hitachi said.
An "on-the-fly" DICOM tag mapping capability allows for on-site DICOM modification, according to the vendor. Hitachi is providing the upgrade free of charge to customers participating in its Ultra Plus customer assurance program as well as new AVIA customers under warranty.
