Information systems developer IDX Systems has promoted senior vice president Robert Galin to the post of president of IDX United Kingdom, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Burlington, VT-based firm. Galin has been primarily responsible for enhancing IDX’s presence in the U.K., and he is the principal liaison between the U.S. and U.K. operations, the company said. In addition to his new position, Galin will serve on the board of directors of IDX U.K.
IDX also promoted Paul Martin to vice president of operations of the U.K. subsidiary. Martin, a software development and architecture specialist in the area of Web technologies, joined IDX in 1993 and has served as director of operations for IDX in London for the past three years.
IDX has also named Dr. Nick Beard to the position of chief medical officer of IDX U.K. The physician joined IDX in 1996 and was most recently vice president of healthcare informatics. Beard is also a visiting lecturer at the Stanford University School of Medicine’s Stanford Medical Informatics group in Stanford, CA, according to IDX.
