Eastman Kodak Health Imaging will make its RIS 2010 radiology information system available to U.S. medical facilities in 2004. RIS 2010 is currently available in Europe and Australia, and will debut in other countries at a later time after the U.S. launch, according to the Rochester, NY-based firm.
Jeffrey Markin, Kodak’s general manager of healthcare information systems, said that a significant opportunity exists for RIS 2010 in the U.S., as almost 80% of U.S. hospitals have RIS networks that are more than 10 years old. Kodak also sees potential for integrating new systems with other Kodak medical imaging technology.
