MED/FM and Web MED/FM systems will be featured.
Healthcare information systems provider CPU Medical Management Systems of San Diego will be showcasing its client/server-based practice management solution, MED/FM, and its application service provider (ASP)-based iteration of its MED/FM Web application.
MED/FM features a PACS interface, trend reporting, document imaging, electronic data capture, multi-entity billing capabilities, integrated appointment scheduling, and managed care contract management. Also included are electronic claims processing, statement and remittance capabilities, integrated collection and productivity reports, and online customer support with a user manual and an FAQ page, according to the vendor.
Claims management is structured so that billing and collections are claim-based rather than account-based. In addition, each claim has its own accounts receivable, financial class, and contract associated with it.
The Web-enabled version of the application allows clients to connect to the firm’s secure data center via a Web browser, where the application and data are hosted. The company manages and maintains the data and hardware, yet the clients keep their processing autonomy, CPU said.
The products, all available now, are targeted toward radiology imaging and office-based practices, hospital-based practices, and medical billing services. Pricing depends on the number of users, according to CPU.
