ASP-based RIS makes RSNA debut.
RIS developer Source Medical Solutions of Birmingham, AL, is showcasing SourceRad 2, an application service provider (ASP)-based RIS. The product features scheduling, registration, reporting, billing and collections, and image and report distribution capabilities, according to the vendor.
SourceRad 2’s architecture is based on Microsoft’s .Net development platform, and is hosted on mainframe-class enterprise servers to deliver 100% data availability and complete system failover support with redundancy in hot-swappable hardware components, the vendor said. Self-healing application components, and near-continuous processing with dynamic system domains are also featured.
The product is scheduled to roll out in the U.S. over the next year with scheduling and registration available this month. Technologist logging, transcription, reporting, film tracking, and mammography-tracking functions are due in April. Billing functionality and enhancements to already-released functions are slated for July. The firm said it plans to make the product available worldwide in 2005.
SourceRad 2 is offered via a subscription service, with recurring monthly fees based on procedure volume. The fees are inclusive of all training, support, updates, and database management, Source Medical said.
