Voice-recognition software developer Provox Technologies of Roanoke, VA, will be premiering its VoxReports radiology reporting application at this month’s RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The system features hands- and eyes-free operations with no radiologist editing required due to a third-party editing feature that updates voice models for improved accuracy, according to Provox. The application also uses a SmartMacro capability that uses a rules-based logic engine to interpret patient and exam procedure data from the RIS and PACS to automatically build specific radiology interpretations and forms.
Administrative and usage reporting by procedure, radiologist, or editor is accessible via a Web interface. In addition, PACS, RIS, PRM, and HL-7 interfaces for demographic, order, and accession number parsing automate report selection and creation process, the firm said.
Dictation can also be accomplished on a laptop or tablet PC off-line and be synchronized to the system when the computer is reconnected to the network. Hand and foot controls, electronic signature, and automated report printing or faxing to referring physicians capabilities round out the system.
