Healthcare informatics developer Cerner will be showcasing its work-in-progress RadNet Web-based RIS, as well as MultiMedia Foundation, the company's enterprise storage product for images and other multimedia objects.
The RadNet RIS is Web-based software that provides a technologist with one application for all processes, and offers quick access to electronic medical records (EMRs), according to the Kansas City, MO-based firm. The product, scheduled for worldwide distribution in 2006, is targeted toward radiology departments seeking greater RIS portability, Cerner said.
MultiMedia Foundation provides storage and Web distribution for multimedia objects including medical images and scanned documents. The application is built using an Oracle database on a Linux server operating system, the company said. It is designed to work with an organization's existing PACS and EMR and integrates with Cerner's RIS, CVNet cardiology product, PathNet anatomic pathology offering, FirstNet emergency room application, and PowerChart EMR solution.
MultiMedia Foundation is currently available worldwide.
