The Crescendo Speech Processing for Radiology voice recognition application will be launched at the RSNA show.

Crescendo Speech Processing for Radiologists is powered by SpeechMagic recognition technology from Philips Speech Processing of Vienna, Austria, and includes a professional recognition vocabulary for radiological terminology.

The application is loaded with Radiology ConText, a specific recognition vocabulary for SpeechMagic that's based on the analysis of more than100 million words. Implemented as a background layer, the Crescendo Speech Processing application is designed to provide an optimal recognition rate, according to the Quebec-based developer.

Crescendo Speech Processing was designed to integrate within a hospital's existing IT infrastructure, including dictation and transcription systems, RIS, and PACS from any vendor. The application will be available next month, Crescendo said.
