Healthcare technology solutions and services provider Eclipsys of Boca Raton, FL, will be showcasing its new product family, Eclipsys Diagnostic Imaging Solutions, in its exhibit space at McCormick Place. Products being demonstrated include Sunrise RIS, Sunrise PACS, Sunrise Clinical Manager, and Eclipsys Mobile CarePoint wireless workstations.
Eclipsys recently announced its intent to acquire RIS developer eSys Medical Systems of Toronto. A key driver for the acquisition was the Canadian firm's RadioLogic product, a full-featured RIS that is currently licensed by nearly 100 hospitals and outpatient imaging centers, according to Eclipsys. RadioLogic will be rebranded as Sunrise RIS immediately following completion of the acquisition, Eclipsys said.
The purchase builds on Eclipsys' co-development agreement with Linköping, Sweden-based PACS vendor Sectra. The acquisition has allowed Eclipsys to create a new product family known as Eclipsys Diagnostic Imaging Solutions, which will include Sunrise RIS and Sunrise PACS.
Sunrise RIS will be integrated with Sunrise PACS and also with Sunrise Clinical Manager, the company said. Sunrise Clinical Manager includes computerized physician order entry (CPOE), electronic health records, and other capabilities that provide immediate, secure access to medical content and patient records at the point of care or elsewhere, Eclipsys said.
Sunrise RIS will also be sold by Eclipsys and its distributors as a standalone system that can be interfaced with PACS or clinical systems from other vendors, the company said.
The developer will also be demonstrating its Mobile CarePoint wireless workstations at the RSNA conference. The workstations are capable of facilitating patient registration, order-entry, medication administration, documentation, and results reporting, Eclipsys said.
