Insight will debut version 7.0 of its OmniRad RIS at this year's RSNA show.
The latest iteration of the RIS, first released in 1994, features an enhanced worklist and paperless workflow module, document scanning and management, a radiologist structured-reporting module, and an integrated patient scheduling with next-available and rules-based operations.
OmniRad 7.0 has also added new mammography/MQSA audit capabilities, enhanced PACS and computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD) integration, and support for both SQL and Interbase database engines, according to the Encino, CA-based firm.
The application is HL7- and DICOM-compliant and integrates with hospital information systems (HIS), as well as third-party billing and transcription services. The product is targeted toward imaging centers and radiology departments in hospitals with 75 beds or fewer, Insight said.
OmniRad 7.0 is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2005, and will be available in both Microsoft Windows and ASP-based models.
