Healthcare informatics developer Mantis Technology of New York City will exhibit its four-component RIS product suite in Chicago later this month.
The MantisIQ RIS is a Web-based three-tier application developed using Microsoft.Net and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 technologies.
The MantisIQ Security Service is used to authenticate and authorize the RIS clients. Developed using Microsoft's ASP.Net Web Services and .Net Cryptographic services, it provides the security solution to the other components of the system. The software uses secure sockets layer (SSL) digital certificates to provide the authentication, data integrity, and privacy necessary for HIPAA-complaint medical transactions, according to the firm.
MantisIQ Radiology Services provides the various radiology services in the RIS, such as scheduling, prior authorization, registration, technologist screens, digital dictation, transcription, and HIPAA-complaint billing services via XML Web services. The Radiology Services component is completely DICOM complaint, the vendor said. In addition, MantisIQ Radiology Services has the capability to integrate with any third-party RIS, hospital information system (HIS), laboratory information system (LIS), or PACS using HL7 interfaces.
The MantisIQ Radiology Client software is the interface-provider component of the application and is built using Microsoft Windows.Net forms, Mantis said.
The fourth component of the RIS suite, MantisIQ Clinical Messaging Client, is a Web-based client for referring physicians. It helps a practice reach out to its referring physician community by providing a secure communications link. Based on standard Web protocols, the component can help reduce overall report turnaround time, according to Mantis.
