Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions will be showcasing its Novius Radiology RIS this month in Chicago.

The product features scheduling, registration, order entry, patient and procedure tracking, read exams with image call-up, mammography tracking, film management, RIS and modality worklists, and clinical alerts.

In addition, multientity support, support for HIPAA compliance, image viewing, interactive documents, document management (for scanning and electronic signature capture), management reporting, hospitalwide word processing, and user-defined system monitors are included in the application, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor.

Novius Radiology RIS supports Hewlett Packard's HP Tru64, IBM's AIX v5.2, and RedHat's Linux AS 2.4 server, Siemens said.

The product is currently available and has been designed to support all sizes of hospital radiology practice, from a small radiology department to radiology enterprises performing more than a million procedures per year, the company said.
