Speech recognition technology developer Provox Technologies has introduced VoxEnterprise, an enterprise-wide speech recognition and dictation-based medical documentation and workflow management system.
VoxEnterprise is designed to work in multiple departments and 33 medical specialties, and allows for both interactive and passive speech recognition, according to the Roanoke, VA-based vendor. It interfaces with hospital and radiology information systems, and consolidates this information for use in the documentation process, Provox said.
Physicians can employ either a headset or a hand mic to dictate interactively, or dictate with no text appearing. Once dictation is completed, the physician can send the dictation and note on to a transcriptionist, or can review and sign the note, ProVox said.
In other Provox news, the company has received an order from Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Provox will be providing the institution with its VoxReports speech recognition-based radiology reporting package.
