HealthCast, Sensible Vision partner

Healthcare security developer HealthCast of Boise, ID, and Sensible Vision of Covert, MI, have developed a biometric single sign-on product that uses facial recognition technology to automate user log-in and application access.

The system combines Sensible Vision's FastAccess facial biometrics software, a Web camera, and HealthCast's eXactACCESS single sign-on and clinical workflow software.

The product replaces passwords, proximity card readers, and standard biometric devices with a hands-free method to access medical applications and secure patient records without requiring user action, according to the companies. In addition, when a user moves away from the workstation, the system automatically logs them out of the network, supporting HIPAA privacy and security requirements, the firms said.
