Liberty Alliance creates healthcare public interest group

Liberty Alliance has launched a global public forum to develop an interoperable, secure, and private information exchange system for healthcare.

The Liberty Alliance Health Identity Management Special Interest Group (HIM SIG) is based on Liberty Alliance's model of addressing technology, business, and privacy issues to meet digital identity management and regulatory challenges facing the international healthcare market today.

With more than 30 members from around the world in education, government, healthcare, and technology sectors, HIM SIG is designed to foster collaboration among regional health information organizations, health information exchanges, and other organizations interested in an internationally interoperable healthcare identity management and information exchange system.
