Philips debuts wireless tracking system

Philips Healthcare has developed a wireless repair and tracking system for mobile imaging systems.

The service, Philips Remote Services (PRS) for Mobiles, employs global positioning system (GPS) technology, Internet data connectivity, and standard voice service to diagnose and potentially repair mobile imaging equipment remotely, according to the Andover, MA-based vendor. PRS for Mobiles was co-developed with wireless communications systems provider Astral Communications.
