Royal Philips Electronics, the parent company of Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has reached an agreement to acquire Dixtal Biomédica e Tecnologia of São Paulo, Brazil.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dixtal manufactures patient-monitoring, anesthesia, ventilation, and electrocardiogram equipment, as well as other sensors for vital-sign measurements. The company would become part of Philips Healthcare's patient monitoring business.
The pending transaction is Philips' second move in the last month to expand its presence in the global patient-monitor market. In April, Philips unveiled plans to acquire Chinese patient-monitoring firm Shenzhen Goldway Industrial.
