IBM has launched BladeCenter QS22, a supercomputing technology compliant with its cell broadband engine architecture, the Armonk, NY-based firm announced.
BladeCenter includes a new processor, PowerXCell 8i. It can handle 16 times more memory than its predecessors, up to 32 GB, so that it can handle workloads that have formerly required dozens of servers, according to IBM.
