GE collaborates with CenTrak on RFID technology

GE Healthcare has collaborated with CenTrak of Newtown, PA, on a new radiofrequency identification (RFID) technology that allows users to divide a hospital room or bay with "virtual walls," according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based firm.

Asset Optimization System allows healthcare staff to track tagged mobile medical equipment down to a portion of a single room as small as 6 x 8 ft, GE said.
