Health Care Service buys MEDecision

Health Care Service of Chicago has completed its acquisition of healthcare IT developer MEDecision of Wayne, PA, for $7 per share in cash.

MEDecision now becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Care Service.

HealthCare Service is the fourth-largest U.S. health insurer, with 12.4 million members in its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
