(Booth 7038) Crescendo Systems of Laval, Quebec, will debut its new Centro speech recognition workflow module, which allows radiologists to access patient files and dictate through an easy-to-use and intuitive interface.
Crescendo launches Centro as a fully integrated patient-centric component of its professional speech recognition workflow system, which uses the SpeechMagic engine from Philips Speech Recognition Systems, acquired in October by Nuance Communications.
Scheduled to be officially released in the U.S. in February 2009, Centro includes a simplified interface, enabling radiologists to pick an order and immediately start dictating, or simply browse and update a patient's files and all of its historical data, according to the company.
Centro's speech processing capabilities manage dictation workflow through sections of speech. Crescendo's platform then assembles these sections into the final report. Radiologists also can chart notes on anatomical images, and physicians can be notified of critical findings.
Crescendo has integrated Centro with various systems from PACS vendors, such as Siemens Healthcare, McKesson, Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, GE Healthcare, and Agfa HealthCare.
