Image management firm Emageon of Birmingham, AL, and suitor Health Systems Solutions (HSS) of Tampa, FL, have agreed to extend the closing date for the proposed merger of the firms.
The firms have agreed to set February 11 as the closing date for the deal. Previously, Emageon had asked HSS to set a closing date, and last week Emageon received a letter from HSS indicating that Stanford International Bank would not provide funding to complete the acquisition.
In a December 29 announcement, the companies said that they worked together to come up with a timetable for the deal. Emageon said it was pleased that HSS and Stanford International Bank had shown a commitment to complete the transaction.
