QuadraMed partner attains meaningful use

Healthcare IT firm QuadraMed's longstanding partner, New York City Health and Hospitals, has successfully attested to achieving meaningful use stage 1 in all of its 11 hospitals using QuadraMed's Computerized-Patient Record (QCPR) meaningful use and interoperability package, the company said.

New York City Health and Hospitals began preparing for stage 1 attestation last year by extending its partnership with QuadraMed through a five-year contract to upgrade to QCPR 5.2. The electronic health record (EHR) includes certified physician order entry, patient problem lists, and controlled medical vocabulary, all of which are required for stage 1, according to QuadraMed.

The attesting hospitals include Bellevue Hospital Center, Coney Island Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital Center, Harlem Hospital Center, Jacobi Medical Center, Kings County Hospital Center, Lincoln Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital Center, North Central Bronx Hospital, Queens Hospital Center, and Woodhull Medical Center.

New York City Health and Hospitals is now qualified for financial incentives from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after meeting all objectives to demonstrate that the health system is using a certified EHR to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care, while also reducing health data disparities, QuadraMed said.
