Canadian telecommunications firm Telus has purchased KinLogix, a provider of cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) services in Quebec.
The KinLogix EMR captures, organizes, and displays critical patient data in an integrated patient record. More than 200 medical clinics and more than 5,700 healthcare professionals use the service, Telus Health said.
KinLogix controls a 36% market share of cloud-based EMR services provided to the province, according to Telus Health. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Telus' position in the EMR market. KinLogix employees will become part of the Telus physician solutions group.
This is the second EMR company Telus has acquired this year. In February, the company acquired Wolf Medical Systems, a cloud-based service provider serving Western Canada.
