Healthcare information systems firm Meditech and Nuance Communications have partnered to launch a virtual assistant with voice-driven navigation to help physicians use electronic health record (EHR) applications.

Using Nuance's Dragon medical virtual assistant technology, users of Meditech's Expanse EHR can access, navigate, and control the software hands-free. Physicians can use simple voice commands to have Expanse's virtual assistant search patient charts for lab results, medications, allergies, radiology images, and more.
