Barco debuts interventional radiology display module

Display firm BarcoView has debuted MIVD 1218, an 18-inch, grayscale LCD flat-panel display module for interventional radiology applications. Designed as a replacement for legacy and current CRT displays in x-ray control and operating rooms, the one-megapixel display module offers high-brightness greater than 500 Cd/m², as well as de-interlacing and frame-rate conversion, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based vendor.

BarcoView said that MIVD 1218 is compatible with any type of video input signal. An existing system's interlaced output is converted to a signal that drives the LCD panel, eliminating the up-scan converter traditionally needed for flicker-free images, according to the vendor. Automatic adjustment functions are included to confer image representation benefits, BarcoView said.
