PACS vendor Sectra of Linkoping, Sweden, Konica Medical Imaging of Wayne, NJ, and Galen Orthopaedic Technologies of New Orleans have all entered into an agreement to create and distribute a family of digital imaging solutions specifically designed for orthopedic surgeons. The cornerstone of the product line is the Galen OrthoStation, a scalable open-platform workstation for digital templating, bone mineral density analysis, and 3-D reconstruction of CT and MR images, according to the companies.
The OrthoStation is based on Sectra’s PACS workstation, modified to suit the needs of orthopedics. The product line also includes the Ortho Xpress CR, based on Konica’s Xpress CR.
