Siemens Medical Solutions has teamed up with IBM to bring an on-demand image management capability to the Malvern, PA-based vendor's Sienet Integrated Radiology Suite. By employing IBM's new Management Storage Service (MSS) along with Integrated Radiology Suite, hospitals will be able to avoid the large initial investment in storage systems required for digital image management, according to the vendors.
Instead, customers will pay only for the actual storage and management services consumed, according to White Plains, NY-based IBM and Siemens. MSS consists of IBM's TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server along with Tivoli management software.
