PACS vendor Agfa HealthCare has received several large contracts from hospitals in Sweden and Finland. In a $4.1 million (U.S.) order, the Mortsel, Belgium-based firm will be providing its Impax PACS technology to University Hospital Malmö in Sweden.
In another Swedish contract, Agfa will be participating in a PACS/RIS integration project with hospitals in Jönköping county. The order, valued at $4 million, includes the installation of an Agfa PACS and RIS network at the county's Ryhov Hospital in Jönköping, Högland Hospital in Eksjö, and the Värnamo hospital, Agfa said. Seven peripheral health centers will also be included in the project.
In Finland, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) will be integrating Agfa's RIS offering into its HUSpacs network. With the conclusion of this final stage of the HUSpacs project, all 21 radiology departments in the HUS will be linked to create one virtual department, Agfa said.
