Healthcare IT firm Cerner expects its first-quarter 2003 revenue and earnings to be below expectations due to reduced bookings for new business during the quarter. The Kansas City-based company expects new bookings for the first quarter to be between $145 and $150 million, compared with the $200 million estimate it provided at the beginning of the last quarter.
As a result, revenue in the first quarter is expected to range between $189 and $192 million, rather than previous estimates of $205 to $210 million. The firm will provide further information about its first-quarter results, and its outlook for future periods, when it releases its earnings statement on April 17.
