Display provider Richardson Electronics has signed an agreement with IBM to deliver integrated workstation and display offerings for the medical imaging market. IBM will supply LaFox, IL-based Richardson with its Medical Assessment Workstation. Available to customers as part of an integrated display system, the workstation is designed for PACS/RIS/HIS applications, according to Richardson.
In other news, Richardson has debuted ViewMedX RTP4000, a 40-inch, diagonal custom liquid crystal display (LCD) targeted for nondiagnostic applications. The system includes a PACS and network-enabled computer, protective enclosure, and a high-contrast DICOM-compliant display.
The firm has also added a two-megapixel grayscale flat-panel display from Siemens Display Technologies of Lafayette, CO, to its PACS display portfolio. Called SMD19200, the display includes Siemens’ dual-domain In Plane Switching (IPS) technology and has a resolution of 1,200 x 1,600 in portrait mode and 1,600 x 1,200 in landscape mode.
