BarcoView has introduced Nio, a line of grayscale display systems for standard medical viewing applications. The Nio family is available in two-megapixel, three-megapixel, and five-megapixel resolutions, as well as in single- or dual-head configurations, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based vendor.
The systems combine a slim, high-bright grayscale LCD display with the firm's Backlight Output Stabilization (BLOS) technology, a high-speed display controller, and Barco's NioWatch software to ensure continuous DICOM-compliant viewing, Barco said.
In other news, Barco has launched FiberOpticLink (FOL), a high-speed DVI extension that allows for remote use of medical display devices. FOL allows operators to use Barco's ImageTile digital lightbox as a remote operating terminal up to 330 feet away from the workstation, according to the firm.
