NAI Technology Products has introduced MDR (Medical Digital Recorder), a portable DVD and CD recording device for DICOM image management. The system is designed to support both fixed and portable imaging modalities, according to the Auburn, CA-based firm.
The MDR system includes file export, e-mail, and printing utilities, as well as a DICOM viewer that can be burned onto each MDR disc for playback. The system supports both multiple-patient archive capabilities for long-term storage needs and single-patient archive capabilities for creating files for referring physicians or patient communications.
