Data communications provider Time Warner Telecom has signed a three-year deal to provide high-speed data service to Community Medical Centers (CMC) in Fresno, CA. The Littleton, CO-based firm is scheduled to complete installation in October of a switched native LAN connection, which will link six medical facilities in the Fresno area.
The company is providing a 1Gbps backbone and 10/100 Mbps connections, representing a 10-fold capacity increase. Capacity will be further extended with CMC’s migration from half duplexed to fully duplexed transmission capabilities. In addition, Time Warner Telecom is providing 6 Mbps Ethernet Internet services to the institution’s entire network.
The data transmission infrastructure upgrade is part of CMC’s implementation of an enterprise-wide PACS.
