PACS document scanning firm PACSGear of Pleasanton, CA, has launched a new version of its PacsScan software targeted at the hospital enterprise market. PacsScan Enterprise allows nonimage patient-related documents to be scanned and electronically stored and distributed across the enterprise.
The PacsScan product line is designed to eliminate the paper documents that accompany medical images in a PACS. PacsScan Enterprise creates electronic folders where all documents related to a patient can be stored, with the information available across the enterprise.
The earlier version of PacsScan has been installed at over 50 PACS installations in North America, according to the company.
