PACS firm eMed Technologies has launched Matrix, the vendor’s next-generation PACS platform and workstation.
Matrix employs "smart client" technologies, a redesigned user interface, and dynamic peer-to-peer communication and collaboration tools, according to the Burlington, MA-based firm.
Matrix can be deployed as a thin-client, but with the performance benefits of a thick-client approach, eMed said. With the software, radiologists can perform diagnostic reading remotely, from home or outlying facilities, eMed said.
The adaptive software "learns" the user’s viewing protocol preferences, while taking into consideration the client’s monitor setup. It then optimizes the display accordingly, regardless of where the user logs in, according to the vendor. eMed will spotlight Matrix at next week’s 2003 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
