Enterprise image management firm Emageon of Birmingham, AL, has inked two recent agreements to provide its services to hospital networks in Missouri and Wisconsin.
In the first deal, Emageon signed on with Meriter Hospital of Madison, WI, to manage medical image visualization and workflow integration across Meriter’s healthcare facilities. The system will incorporate medical images from throughout the Meriter enterprise, and will integrate with the hospital’s existing storage area network, billing systems, scheduling, ordering, specialized clinical applications, and electronic medical record (EMR).
Emageon also closed a deal with BJC HealthCare, a network of 13 hospitals based in St. Louis. BJC Healthcare will use Emageon software to manage medical image visualization, content, and workflow. The health network will also integrate Emageon’s software into BJC's Clinical Desktop EMR application in addition to deployment throughout Missouri Baptist Medical Center, a 489-bed hospital in West St. Louis County.
These agreements represent the application of Emageon’s new Intelligent Visual Medical Systems concept, which resulted from the company’s merger with UltraVisual Medical Systems in May. The IVMR platform provides multispecialty images, related information, and advanced visualization applications through a single user interface, according to the company.
