Digital image management provider SmartPACS has signed three six-year contracts worth more than $11.5 million to provide PACS services in the U.S., according to the Irvington, NJ-based vendor.
An installation of a SmartPACS system is planned for Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA, this month, the company said. A Meditech RIS will be interfaced with the PACS, which will also incorporate 5 CR systems and several offsite locations as part of the configuration.
The Fallon Clinic in Worcester, MA, is scheduled to launch its PACS this year, SmartPACS said. It is the largest private multi-specialty physician group in Central Massachusetts with more than 1 million patient visits a year, according to the firm.
Brooklyn’s Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, a not-for-profit voluntary hospital and a member of New York Presbyterian Healthcare Network System, represents the largest installation of the three recent contracts, the company said. It will include nine diagnostic workstations incorporating StarPACS 3-D software and integrated speech recognition, 15 clinical workstations, Web distribution, an on-line archive, and a PACS broker to interface with a Cerner Radplus RIS.
In addition, three CR systems are being provided by the company and all modalities CT, nuclear medicine, MRI, digital mammography, and ultrasound) at the facility will be integrated, SmartPACS said. The installation has a scheduled launch date of mid-June this year.
