PACS provider Amicas has signed 12 new enterprise PACS contracts during the first quarter of 2004. The 12 contracts include orders from five hospitals and hospital groups, one large multispecialty physician group, and two high-volume radiology groups, according to the company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ridgfield, CT-based VitalWorks.
In addition, four imaging center groups have signed on to employ Amicas' Vision Series PACS and VitalWorks' RadConnect RIS, according to the vendor. The deals represent quarterly records in both total value and total number of contracts for Amicas.
In other developments, Amicas said it began shipments at the end of April of Vision 4, the latest release of its Vision Series PACS network. V4 was field-tested during the first quarter, according to the company.
