Image distribution developer RealTimeImage has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its iPACS OrthoPlanner package, allowing the vendor to begin marketing the offering to the U.S. orthopedic marketplace.
OrthoPlanner is a Web-based digital workflow product that can convert a standard network-connected PC into a full-featured, specialized orthopedic workstation with optional archiving capability, according to the San Bruno, CA-based firm. RealTimeImage introduced OrthoPlanner at the 2004 Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting in Vancouver.
