Heartlab gets SF install

Cardiac PACS firm Heartlab has been selected by San Francisco's California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) to provide its Encompass cardiac networking software to the facility's Kanbar Cardiac Center.

CPMC, a subsidiary of Sutter Health, performs more than 2,000 cardiac catheterization and 6,500 echocardiography procedures annually, and expects volume to increase with the addition of the Kanbar Center's three cardiac cath labs and eight echo labs, according to Westerly, RI-based Heartlab.

The Encompass deployment will be completed in multiple phases, beginning with the installation of an integrated image archive for the cath and echo labs, the company said. The Kanbar Center is also installing Encompass Web, which provides access to patient images and information via a secure Internet connection. In addition, the facility will deploy Heartlab's results-management software, enabling digital report creation as well as reports on productivity and procedure volume, Heartlab said.
