Brit wins VA PACS contract

Dallas-based PACS provider Brit Systems has been awarded a five-year contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide a PACS to VA medical centers in the northwestern United States.

VA facilities that will be part of the PACS network are in Portland, OR; White City, OR; Roseburg, OR; Seattle; Tacoma, WA; Spokane, WA; Walla Walla, WA; Boise, ID; and Anchorage, AK.

The PACS will create a virtual radiology environment for the sites, with a central archive in Vancouver, WA, that will be a disaster-recovery resource for all sites. The contract's value is estimated at $8.6 million by the VA.
